It's whole new product, I develop this almost one year.

The product is a high gloss spray on paint protect film.

It can self healing.

OK, let us see the pictures:

This car already had normal PPF on it.

But the customer don't like it, too many defects.

It apply by top worker, not worker's problem, it's material problem.

IMG_8069_zps0653e87b.jpg

IMG_8070_zps5c467506.jpg

The normal PPF defects as below:

IMG_8072_zps3b5011a3.jpg

IMG_8073_zps6b75bf10.jpg

IMG_8074_zps6dca1ee9.jpg

IMG_8086_zps35f38645.jpg

IMG_8088_zps175e22e2.jpg

IMG_8089_zps72c631b0.jpg

No one had idea for repairing these defects. Only remove it, do again.

The PPF and factory paint's thickness is 396~420 um

IMG_8095_zpsf8a76572.jpg

Factory paint is 196~205 um

IMG_8096_zpsc94d9847.jpg

So, the PPF is around 200 um

Serious orange peel

IMG_8098_zps0e4ca7bb.jpg

After remove it, we polish and clean it.

IMG_8100_zps75dc79a1.jpg

IMG_8099_zps70cfa8c3.jpg

Then, we found big problem:

there are bubble inside the paint, maybe the worker heat the PPF too much.

My painter repair this first

IMG_8102_zpsb89263c7.jpg

Then mask the parts.

IMG_8111_zpsa3b2bc7d.jpg

IMG_8119_zpsfe875cf8.jpg

the thickness of paint is :

IMG_8122_zpsb45684df.jpg

IMG_8124_zps7df062a4.jpg

IMG_8125_zpsd7eb54f4.jpg

Before apply, need to clean again:

IMG_8127_zpsbe795357.jpg

IMG_8132_zps9f281c83.jpg

IMG_8133_zps808fc064.jpg

IMG_8167_zps681db6aa.jpg

Spray finish:

IMG_8168_zpsc2994d4f.jpg

IMG_8169_zps4f88c3b9.jpg

When I am polishing it, customer call me, he want to join a party, need to use this car.

He will return back tomorrow.

So, I only polish a area:

IMG_8171_zpsa84b5d83.jpg

even no polish, the gloss is more better than normal PPF. :)

IMG_8172_zpsce6c28c7.jpg

The car came back two days later.

===============================================================

Let us see the pictures continually...

The new thickness of paint is:

IMG_8174_zpse1c112de.jpg

IMG_8175_zpsd774eb0b.jpg

IMG_8176_zps0cecd9ae.jpg

So, the thickness of coat is more than 200um, more thicker than normal PPF.

Grind it by 1500# sand paper

IMG_8177_zps1c6b4a0b.jpg

Then polish

IMG_8178_zps281259dd.jpg

finish:

IMG_8179_zps5f30bf34.jpg

IMG_8184_zpsf3f6907b.jpg

I'm sure that is more perfect than factory paint, not only than normal PPF!

=================================================

all finished finally !

IMG_8193_zpsc286e557.jpg

IMG_8195_zps046805d2.jpg

IMG_8196_zpsc03b1085.jpg

Almost can't see the difference between coat and factory paint

IMG_8197_zps0d1fdf74.jpg

even the mark, we protect it!

IMG_8199_zps6da8661f.jpg

Perfect solution for paint protection!

=========================================

It's not difficult.

The coat's surface is nanocomposites coating, hydrophobic and self-healing for scratches.

What is self-healing:

It is not growing back, it's revert back to its original state.

The correct name is: Reflow-Effect

let we see the picture as below:

001_zps135897d3.jpg

When normal surface damaged, the material is scraped away.

When Reflow-Effect surface damaged, the material is indentation.

Whe the material received heat, it will revert back to its original state.

But the important point is even one surface had reflow-effect function, it must also have anti-scratch function.

Both of these features, it is called "self-healing"

Hmm.... you might want to put some thought into a training and distribution program here in the US if you want to market it here....

Yes, I agree, but it's long tern plan, the initial training is better in my shop.

The short video is about my shop, here is suitable for all of the training.

Orion couple questions

1. how do you peel the coating off ?

2. So it comes in colors like matte and clear ?

3. When you say it can polish and grind do you mean we can use woolpad and rotary speed 1500rpm like that on that coating ? It looks like i don't know what..maybe clearbra ?

Yes, you can polish or grind it, it's film.

What hyperbolic properties does it have?

How does it react with freezing temperatures?

Ultra Violet blocking properties?

How long will the Orion coating last?

Will 6 month old orion coating bond with new coat?

thank you

looks like a good product , the down side is the time involved in the whole process.

clean the paint first with polish involved , tape /mask everything , spray the product , let it cure , wetsand , polish again ..... so a min require is a paint booth and probably some basic paint skills.

if you have an 8$/h painter you may get some profit out of there... or if you can apply it with a brush or roller , that may cut on prep time

still wetsand, dust etc...

in my business , i look to simplify things not complicate them. for body shop it may be more profit cause they already have the set-up and the skills for paint.
