Lake Country 4" VC pads

I didn't notice substantial wobble but maybe I'm just used to how the PC feels and I didn't notice it :nixweiss It definitely did not make an impact on the results of the polishing

You ought to give the Cyclo pads you've got a try just for comparison. See if you notice any differences.

Will do, I'll pay more attention to them. I've used some under sueded mf bonnets for SG removal

I just bought some Cyclo-branded pads from Mike at http://www.detailingdynamics.com. I'll be using it on my PC to try removing some scratches on a friend's car. They drove right by a white fencepost as they were trying to park and it left a lot of paint on their passenger side door.

Good price, and Mike is always a pleasure to work with. Where do you guys usually get yours?

Thanks.

Can I just use these pads on a PC without an adaptor?

Wouldn't they stick to the 5" backing pad?

Nope, that plate is too big. Fortunately, they do make the correct size plate for PCs and rotaries as well.

And those 4" pads work great on the PC (with the right plate, of course). The PC seems to bog a lot less and I've been pleasantly surprised at how well it'll correct problems. Makes the PC *much* more effective than it is with the larger pads.

And since I usually only use the rotary for RIDS, I end up using the 4" pads on *it* more than the bigger pads. I sure do a lot of work with the 4" Cyclo brand pads.

Lore- I get mine from Irene at TOL, if only because I've been buying from her since the early '90s and I like their customer service. Whatever vendor gives you the service/price you want is the right one for you ;)

What weights do you guys use for the 4" Cyclo pads? I was told by Jan at CMA that there is no need to switch down to a 5" counter-weight (I have a 7336 with the 6 inch weight)

I used to switch to the 5" counterweight but I got lazy and quit changing it. I haven't noticed any problems using the 6" one with every size pad.

Thanks Accumulator for your prompt response. I'll stick wtih the 6" then. (BTW, how come people say you have to use a Torx screw to change the weights? My weights look like they're fastened with a Torx screw which has an extended slot for a flat-blade screw driver).

I can't wait to try out the 3.5" backing plate I bought from CMA and try them with the Cyclo pads I got yesterday from Detailing Dynamics.

We'll see how it goes :)
