Krackle paint

Has anyone ever seen Krackle paint on a car before. It's the paint you put on furniture and it cracks to make it look antique.

I was driving from a job today and saw an older Chevy pickup that had flat black krackle. At first I thought it was a bad spot in the paint but every square inch was exactly the same texture. Then I thought, I bet that would be hard to polish out! Was wishing I had my camera as I was right beside it at a stoplight, but then remembered to late about my camera phone.

Just wondering if this paint was meant to be like that or if someone messed up in the application of it, like way to much hardener!?

I've used crackle paint on wheel wells on cars before and it looks real good. For a whole car body it seems dumb though.
