Klasse SG removal...Interesting method, thoughts...

I have been using this stuff throughout the summer. I love it BTW. I was given a tip on applying this stuff that made it so easy to do I have about 5 layers on my car right now. I was told to wash the car, dry, apply Klasse, let set for an hour or so, wash car again to remove excess, dry. It works really well and eliminates the heavy buffing. What are the opinions on this? It appears to be doing its job, water runs off and the car shines like new after every wash.

Washing and driying the car doesnt seem fun to me, specially when because I dont have a garage or a good shade to do it. But, is 1 hr enough for SG to bond? Wouldnt washing it remove part of it?

In any case, I dont have that problem of heavy buffing SG out. It always comes out with a single wipe of MF sprinkled with QD.

I've used distilled water sprayed on the car then wipe with a towel to remove it. No heavy buffing and I don't have to wash the whole car again. But if you like that method, it should be fine.

I guess since you're not "buffing" the surface to remove residues, the question becomes, "Does dry Klasse residue dissolve in soapy water?". ;)

Given the time it takes for me to wash a car and dry it again though, I can't see myself doing this just for practical reasons. I suppose you could test the action of what you're doing by applying Klasse relatively thickly so you could see a hazy layer, and then try washing it off and seeing how readily it is removed.

I have used FI to remove the SG with good results. I tried FD yesterday and I would say its a lot better, much easier with very little buffing at all. Not to mention it really adds gloss. The wash method would be great if you had a color that shows haze a lot like black. My car is white so it would be overkill. That technique works very well with glass treatments like RainX though so who knows, if it works let us know.

To whomever first posted about FD, I really owe you a beer. Since Joining Autotopia no one product I have tried has made me happier or lived up to the hype like FD. I wish I could remember who was the first to bring it up

Well, here's another goofy thread!

I'm not flaming, but...

Apply SG as thinly as possible... "just when you think your not using enough, that's the right amount! if it is still wet as you apply and move on, go back and rub some off...

Put it on too heavy, it's tough to remove. Go thin.

If you are doing multiple layers you'll eventuallly cover everything, well.

The Klasse Twins may well be the best product available...

Do not use FD to remove SG!:nono (Unless you plan to not put anymore SG on the surface) It contains silicons and/or carnuba. Only use FI.
