I got this '01 GTI in December '00. I was actually reading Autopia back then. When I got it home on the first day it got:
1. 2x wash w/ P21S car shampoo
2. 1 coat Klasse SG. Buffed out by hand w/ microfiber...nobody told me about using a quick detailer back then...10 hours later and with a sprained everything I was done.
3. 1 coat P21S wax.
After that first SG application I gave up on SG(using it on my new car now that I know about Final Inspection) and just did AIO like once a year.
These are photos on my last day of ownership after having the car for almost 3 years. The car hasn't been waxed in over 12 months, just washed the previous day w/ Eimann Fabrik Powerwash. It had AIO applied the previous year. I drove this car for 2 years every day on the LA freeways before I moved.
Basically, even w/ just washing periodically, the Klasse products have amazing durability. I'm a complete convert. I don't even bother with traditional waxes anymore.
