Klasse AIO use?

I'm new into auto detailing and have been researching all sorts of products lately, however Klasse AIO seems to be a little different as I read uses for it.

From what I gather the process should go as follows,

1) Clay bar

2) Klasse AIO to clean the paint? It claims to be a polish, but eveything I read points to it being a great way to clean your paint but not so much for correction.

3) Correcting Polish Compound like 105 followed by 205

4) Carnauba wax or sealant

followed by your detail spray as needed to keep the wax up

I use Klasse, but differently than you outlined. After you wash & use clay bar, the do paint correction w/ Meguiar's 105 (for serious paint correction), followed by Meguiar's 205 (to start the polish process), I then use a final polish. I understand that it if you do Meg's 205 you can skip a final polish. After the final polish I use Klasse to remove all oils from the various polishes. Some guys use a final wipe down, IPA. After the Klasse layer I go to either a sealant or wax. On my black RAV4 I do 2 coats of Klasse. Works for me.

geez...though i just happened to stumble upon a thread...I think I'm ganna go with the SRP because i figure i'll 205 and i just need something to jewel with.. so thinking SRP might do the trick...

Wax wise i been using collinite 476...one coat does it all =]

HKp30- Welcome to Autopioa!

The only time I'd do KAIO before compounding/polishing is if there is *HEAVY* oxidation or some other weird situation. The compounding/polishing will "clean" the paint and some such products have chemical cleaners in them anyhow.

Alexshimshimhae- Heh heh, I hardly ever tell somebody that they're overthinking something, usually I take the opposite tack and tell 'em to think more and harder...but in your case.... ;)

My AIO Summary follows:

KAIO- great paint cleaner, zero filling, usually zero correction, minimal protection/durability.

ZAIO- great paint cleaner, zero filling, very mild correction, moderate protection/durability. Like KAIO with more "oomph" but not as good for exterior plastics or rubber.

SRP- good paint cleaner (others think it's great), very good filling, virtually zero or very very minimal correction, minimal protection/durability (I've changed my previous opinion to this). Not too trim friendly, it's often OK but I'd keep it off of highly textured surfaces and especially rubber.

"I don't know what to use here! Sure don't want to use the wrong stuff..." = KAIO

"Yuck, this wheel needs something with a little bite before I apply a sealant." or "I might want to jewel this a little before I apply my LSP but I don't have any FPII and/or I don't want to do any IPA wiping, just want to get it done.."= ZAIO

"I want to clean this up and hide some flaws, and I might use either a sealant or a wax.." = SRP

And if you want to use an AIO as a true AIO, i.e., like a cleaner-wax, then I'd pick ZAIO.

And I'm not mentioning any other such products lest you think about this even more :chuckle:

I'll mention some more... DG501... fantastic cleaner, as good as KAIO on paint BUT it has decent protection.
