Klasse Aio And Zaino

After I apply Klasse AIO, can I use Zaino products for a topper?

I'm told that the '91 Ford Mustang did NOT have a clearcoat from the factory, but when I wax the white car, there is NO evidence of the color on the applicator!

So if I use Zaino, which polish do I use? The one for regular finishes or clearcoat finishes?

Thanks

Larry

Larry, I would go to a body shop and ask them to check it out. I think it has a clear coat.

If you want to use Zaino then use it per instructions. Same with Klasse. Why mix? Seems I recall that mixing(topping) anything on Zaino reduces the longevity if not the clearity. Is Zaino going to properly bond to Klasse? Who knows & how could you tell if it did or not?

Just my 2 cents worth.

It's been my experience that Zaino won't bond properly to the surface if you don't prepare the surface per instructions.. I see others have tried this with what they see as success. I'm not sure you will find documented results from either the Klasse or Zaino companies; only subjective results. You're on your own here.

The only difference between Zaino Z-2 & Z-3 is an additional additive in the Z-3 to keep the paint from oxidizing. You can use Z-2 on top of non-clearcoat with no problems.

I would think that a '91 would have a clearcoat.

As far as bonding, I've read here both yes and no about Zaino bonding to AIO and other polishes, etc. I've tried it both ways and have seen no real negatives of Zaino not bonding to bare paint.

My last experiment was some Pinnacle Paint Cleaning Lotion and then Z2 and Z5 on it without washing it prior to the Zaino application. It's held up for about 3 months now with no signs of failure. Who knows, maybe it will "fail" by the 4th month ?
