Keeping Track of the Details in Detailing

What system do you use for

1. scheduling details (especially if you have employee's)

2. making sure you get paid (especially if your mobile)

It's not hard if your just doing 1-2 details a day but when you start doing 5-6 and more it gets hard to keep track of really quick.

I have a custom program but it's starting to show bugs and it can't be updated so I would like to move to something else. Thanks!

It’s called GPS!!! Keeps track of street addresses and time vehicle was at location. It can be on a cell or vehicle and not very pricey.

I use one of the "At-A-Glance" calendar books and just pencil them in. Shows the whole week on two pages.

I'm in a fixed location and use QuickBooks for the accounting side.

My friend is writing a program that will handle all the appointments and accounting for my detailing business. All I do is add a name and a picture of the vehicle. After I key in all the information from the drop down menu (make, model, year, etc.) I load a picture of the finished car and type in the process I had just performed. When I hit the "print invoices button" All the customers information, price and process will print out in standard invoice form. All the taxes and disocunts are pre-computed. I just type in 10% or whatever and the computer adjusts automatically. It is almost complete, just the aesthetics (sp?) and there are other options I want done too. I'll let you guys know when it's done. I might need a few tests subjects.

About half my week is already set with standing appointments. I just keep everything in a notebook. Having a really good memory helps. :)
