Kamikaze plate ???

Supposed to be awesome, but stupid expensive and will coid the Rupes warranty. Also, only provides a 10% faster result. Seems awfully expensive for that. And it was out of stock for a long while.

For a pro I would recommend it, not for a beginner. It's outright dangerous and great all in one. I personally use it only for extreme cutting when I need a fast cut and can feel very close to the paint. Having a thin backing plate, combined with a razor thin pad like an Megs xcut allows an experienced polisher to really feel exactly where they are cutting. It allows you to angle more so into technical areas then most, that said if you catch those technical areas with this plate you will almost immediately rip through the paint.

Basically it's a surgeons scalpel, until your very comfortable with a steady hand, I would stick to the stock backing plate.

Co-sign with everything here. I have not had the chance to post a review since that thread was created. I am now catching up on life and will do my best to add one to the thread soon.

Bottom line, the stock backing plate is fine for majority of any correction work to be done. For most users, your $100 is better spent elsewhere (Pads, Compounds, LSPs)

Heard the name and thought I was missing something. I like the plates I have. Have to say I'm very thankful of the WARNING...Very Thankful !
