Well today I was at my local automotive place picking up some detailing items for the weekend. The weather on the east coast has been beautiful this weekend and my cars have been screaming "Detail me now" !!!!!

Anyway, as I walk out of the store I see an old guy in the parking lot qding his truck. I say to myself..."Nice to see someone that age caring for his vehicle like that" :xyxthumbs

To much surprise as I got closer, I see that he is using EO Wax as U Dry (mind u the car is dry as a bone and baking in the sun) and he is polishing the entire car with paper towels....:scared

It was like when someone drags their fingernails across a chalkboard...My blood was running cold....

Needless to say, I showed great restraint in not knocking him down and slapping him with a bottle of good QD and a MF towel..:D

Sorry I just had to share....

:lol :rofl Thanks Pat!

I've seen stuff like this, but it'd come out like "Yeah, um... I saw this old dude out QDing his car, but then I saw he was actually using quick wax with paper towels like.... um, yeah. Pretty funny huh?" :p It's all in the delivery! :xyxthumbs

It would be a kick in the pants if the finish looked good after this treatment. Viva paper towels are the only paper that wont scratch the pant.

The short of it....

This guy has a Super Black 2003 SE Titanium Edition and did not wash his car for 2-3 months. Also, his wheels have stains from the protectant and other elements that he cannot remove

This includes a bird bomb that etched in the paint

The guy wants to know if Nissan is going to cover the damage to the paint and the wheels. I basically said they are not since he neglected it for so long.

I can relate.

I saw a guy using Windex with Ammonia & a scratchy paper towel to get a Bird Bomb off his Black Yukon Denali...!!!

Sprayed it right on the hood in HOT SUNSHINE!

Why didn't he just dump a can of COKE on there?!

It almost made me physically ill...!!!

I've also heard of guys using Acid-Based wheel cleaners on their lower body panels because it "get's 'em super clean!".....

Oh my gosh.......

I'm gonna have a melt-down...

This is just too much! :LOLOL 2-3 months. Like it was said on the forum, he doesn't deserve a Maxima or any nice car for that matter. Why do people buy nice cars and neglect them like that. I just don't understand it! Just go ahead and buy a heap of junk first off if you're going to treat it that way. :wall I don't know whether to laugh or SCREAM!!!!

My friend has a 2000 Honda SHO Prelude. Pearl electric blue paintjob looks blue-purple depending on the light and way you look. Nice 16 in. rims, slammed, it looks sweet. Wanna know how he washes the $26,000 200HP puppy? He brings out a big old bucket with a sponge and starts off by wiping off his stanless steel mufler, then dips the dirty sponge in the bucket and starts wiping off the tires and other lower parts of the car, dips it again. Then starts doing his way up till he finishes with the room. The ONLY time he washes it with running water is at a car wash, and this is very rare. Such a shame:sosad
