Just tried the 1Z Spray Paint

It seems it's a shade darker than the OEM paint color on my 540i wheels. It's on it's 2nd coat and it's dark now. I will give it another coat tomorrow, followup with a slight rub of the sandpaper and then apply some clearcoat. Hopefully, it blends in well.........

Let us know. :up I'm probably never going to use this stuff, but there isn't a ton of feedback on it yet.

Yeap, it's definately not a good match. I sanded it down gently with 600g paper and it appered better. Maybe it was because I was bringing it back down to the factory paint.

I just inspected the wheel 20 minutes after sanding , and it's definately darker. I'm planning to sand again till it blends, put a layer of clear on it and see how it looks after the clear. I'm not expecting any color change but who knows ?

~One mans opinion / observation~

I’ve had great success with BMW wheel re-painting with Griot’s Wheel Restoration Kit (just a thought in case what your using does turn out to darken the wheels)

~Hope this helps~

Experience unshared; is knowledge wasted…/

Hmm, I just realized something: Are we supposed to even sand metallic paint? :nixweiss

I admit I'm a bit clueless on this, but I thought I had read something earlier about how sanding metallic paint destroys the mica flakes that give the metallic look.... Also when I sanded some touchup spots on my own car.... well, I was "displeased". :o
