Hello,
Im finally taking the step from hobby to making this a business now. I have 3 projects coming up but Im on a tight budget and only have about $250-300 to work with and I still need to get a PC and pads on that budget too. Fortunately I already have a lot on hand but just need some ideas for what else I need. My projects that I definitely have for next week are a 1993 red VW Corrado thats been sitting outside for awhile. The tail fin is faded and is now pink and the body has swirl marks all over. Also the front right corner panel has been replaced so that section is somewhat shiny but all else is dull and as if it hasn't been polished or waxed in years! The other project is a dark green suburban thats a 200? something model. It too has swirl marks all over from a new plastic brush head at the machine wash place.
Im about to order a PCXP tonight but had a few questions about what to get with it so here are my questions:
1) What size pads should a newbie start with 4” or 6” and which colors if I was going with the LC CCS?
2) Flat pads or the CCS dimpled ones and how many?
3) Should I use a combo of pad sizes ie 4” for spot polishing and 6” for overall?
4) Best cleaner for inside? My local detailer uses car brite products for the outside black rubber areas and an all purpose cleaner for the inside. Im not sure what their prices are or where to get so I was thinking about getting Megs wheel cleaner and their All purpose cleaner too both for only about $25. The local guy (my competitor now) has something he sprays on the rubber trim that cleans it and yet it restores the black shine that lasts for weeks too. What kind of stuff will do that in an all purpose cleaner spray?
5) What additional polish do I need? I have 3m scratch remover, turtle wax rubbing compound, Megs Ultimate Compound. I was thinking about getting Megs 105/205 combo &/or should I get some of Menzerna's stuff? 3M FIPII?
Thank you for your response and please remember I only have a budget of say around $275 to play with including the price of the PCXP!
