1) I got the Sonus DAS Pad KIt how should i wash the pads after every use?

2) Would i use the Orange Pad for poorboys SSR 2.5?

3) Use Green for meg # 7?

4) Use Blue for Meg # 26?

5) Would i do the same motion on speed 5 for all three compounds? One and down, left to right, diaganol with overlapping.

6) Do you guys use a hand towel to wipe away after the appling or do you use the bonnet for the 7424.

Anyway can't wait to start.

Thanks

1) Yes, always wash your pads afer *every* use. I usually fill a bucket full of Dawn and water and throw the pads in immediately after I am finished with them. The quicker you start soaking them in soapy water, the easier they will be to clean. After the detail, I usually leave them in the soap/water bucket overnight and then spray them out with the hose. To dry, you can kind of sueeze and pat them dry or stick it back on the PC and turn it on to wring them out.

2) SSR 2.5 can be used with either orange or green, it's up to you. This mostly depends on how bad the surface you are polishing is. I'd start with the green to see how it works and if you need more cutting power, then step up to the orange

3) Green would be fine for #7

4) #26 can be applied with the blue pad, grey pad, or even by hand

5) I like to use speed 5 for all *polish* duty, and every now and then speed 6 on stubborn areas, but not for long because it dries the product too fast. For applying glazes and/or paint cleaners I like speed 6 on most surfaces and 5 on tighter areas. For application of protectants I use somewhere between 3 and 4, all depends on what I am applying.

Stick to a 2x2 area and work it just like you described. Remember to move VERY slowly and let the polish do the work. Little to no pressure is needed.

6) Buy some good plush mf towels to remove the resdue left behind your work. You can use the bonnet for protectant removal but I just like to do it by hand with a mf.

Hope this helps. Also, you may want to download the Autopia Guide To Detailing. It will help you a lot.

Cool thanks,

One question. The manual to the potercable said i should turn it on unless it is touching something. Are you telling me doing it for a minute to dry the pad wont harm anything... I am not going to hold you to it lol

Just a quick on and off will do. Obviously, don't have it set on 6 or anything. Speed 3 will be fine. All you are doing is slinging the water out. It will still need to thoroughly dry out but this will quicken the process.

Well i did it man thats alot of work. Haven't spent that much time in my car for a long time.

The paint surface feels so nice now. But i think i removed tons of swirls but it seems that the water etching is still there, seems to be more noticeable now too?. Guess i need to learn how to use the PC better.

I also found the #7 and #26 really hard to remove. You think i didn't go over the same area enough?
