Isnt the wax/polish/cleaner etc....supposed to be applied in a back and forth motion, (by hand) not in a circle, but, doesnt the PC turn in a circle, and isnt the PC the best way to apply your products. Im confused:confused: Could someone help with my confusion.

Thanks,

For hand application, back and forth is the best way to keep things consistant, limit the variables, since it's much harder to keep pressure/speed etc even.

The "back and forth rule" for hand application really isn't a hard fast rule. It's just a guideline just in case. The just in case is if you should get any dirt or debris between the pad and the paint. This way any scratches you might incur aren't as noticable.

Yes, it's true that this can happen with PC use too, so in most practical cases, it doesn't matter. On the other hand, using linear strokes sometimes makes it easier to keep track of what areas you've done and haven't.

The PC is (arguably) the "best" way to work most products simply because of its huge work and time saving advantage.
