After Changing my oil today I decided I was gonna go clean the engine since it has never been cleaned in 12,000 miles and because its going into the Dealer tommorow and I want a clean engine for them to work on.

I started by Spraying the engine down with a strong mist type spray on my nozzle. Then I did a more direct hard spray on parts. After that I sprayed some Simple Green all over and let it sit for about 10 mins. After the 10 mins I Hosed that off, then I wiped down some spots with a rag and then I blew all of the water out with a leaf blower. The last thing I did was spray stoners trim shine all over the plastic parts and I took pics right after, thats why it looks SOOO shiny. I already tryed starting it up and it ran fine even though I didnt cover the alternator or the battery at all so no need to worry.

Ps. I know some of my IC fins are bent, Damn Rocks...

That looks great, Bryan!! :xyxthumbs

I really want to get around to doing my engine, but there never seems to be time!!! Maybe this weekend....

I've gotta do that to mine....... I'm just a little scared to still because of all the electrical stuff - don't wanna screw something up.

Bryan - :bow nice engine!!

Shiny I was worried but I said the heck with it...

I KNOW some water got in the alternator but I think its meant for that. I mean look where my alternator is... when spraying around it water had to get in it.

I've only had a problem twice with water in the engine bay, and it got into the distributor cap. Then I only needed to take it off and dry it out and all was well.

There are stories about worse problems, I haven't run into them thus far though.

Very nice work :bow

Shiny Lil Detlr, dont worry about hurting the electrical system, just dont stand there with a pressure washer for a long time. The PO of my car did and it cost many $$ to fix. It takes a lot of effort to ruin an engine bay. Just think of all the dirt and water that gets in there when you driving in the wet, and that does no harm.

Keep repeating to yourself "a clean car with a dirty engine is a dirty car" :)
