Just a few (haha) microfiber towel pics...

So it seems I have a slightly absurd amount of microfiber towels and I decided to take some close up pics of the nap which is a shot usually missing from the website pics of the places that sell the towels. This is some of my collection of towels, got a bit tired of taking pics when I started passing 30 different types and skipped 5 or 6 others that aren't anything all that special.

The pic is of the same towel folded over on itself so you can see the differences (if any) on both sides. I listed where they're from, size, the name they go by on the site, gsm, country of origin and % makeup of them along with if they have tags or not sewn on them. In some cases I couldn't find all the info on the towels makeup or origin so I added what I could.

Figured it would be a decent photographic resource to compare naps. I know there are other microfiber threads and that's what prompted me to take all the pics since I have a few towels I haven't seen close up pics of and I figured someone may be curious.

I'd love to try some microfiber madness towels but its real hard to justify ~$10 or more for a single towel though. Yes a funny thing from a guy who owns over 30 types of towels. I don't think i'd ever want to get towels that pricey dirty haha. I think I'd actually have to be able to feel one before I dove in.

They are well worth it! Corey threw in a free Crazy Pile MF on my last order. I was super stoked when I opened my box! Imagine a griots speed shine towel with a thicker, softer nap! Yeah, it's that awesome.

I do understand where your coming from. I'm the same way.

But the CrazyPile I just got really is superb. I broke down and got 2 just to try and see what all the fuss was about. After using them today I wish I would have gotten more. I also got 2 of the Summit800 too try as well. They are very nice.

The only real use I have for super soft long nap fluffy towels like that is waterless washing and maybe detail sprays. Waterless wash towels get quite dirty sometimes and I use a lot of them so at $11 each buying enough to waterless wash my truck would be pricey.

I gotta say, from all the research I have done. Microfiber tech seems to have the best deals by far when it comes to good affordable MF towels.

Agreed. Especially since you can get 10 packs and such. CG isn't so bad either. But MFTech is hard to beat.

Glad to share them. Like most detailing things I've been on the hunt to find my favorite products in several categories, hence the absurd variety of towels and my multi-product comparison tests.

As for those orange one, where all the towels come from is listed but you'll have to do your own leg work to find them past that since out of respect to Todd and Autopia I won't post links to outside vendors.

I used the orange edgeless today for a waterless wash, those suckers are crazy soft might have to get some more of them in the future. They do bleed color when washed though, as do most of the vibrant towels in the red and orange family shown above so don't wash them with white towels unless you want light orange or light pink towels that were once white haha.

XSSIVE... Do you mind if I add to this thread? I have a large assortment of towels that haven't been included. I have all the microfiber madness, most of the Autogeek cobra towels, a couple of adams, some CG, mothers, and others. I think it could be beneficial for everyone to see the differences in all the towels.
