A spammer is much more obvious than a shill.

A shill is an undercover salesman that claims to have no personal gain from promoting a companies product or service.
 
Wow you guys are quick,I read the whole thread and went back to the top to read the original post and now I know what you mean it does look a bit suspicious that he/she didn't even hang around for the replies.
 
Maybe Jngr is familiar with them. (Or anyone else in that area)

Possibly, although they made the original post at 10:54 and were logged in until 11:33.
No replies were made until the next morning so they did miss out on all the love. :D

FWIW, I do agree that it is most likely a shill post. :)
 
one other thing I notice about newbees and former lurkers opposed to shills, is that quickly sign up for the monthly give-aways :D
 
30 replies and nothing else from the thread originator? Shill is the word!!!

Oddly enough I saw this post in the wee hours of the morning before anyone had replied and the shill word came to my mind then. I had never heard of the stuff so I looked it up. My first thoughts were that it was a low end relabel of someone else's stuff but what do I know?
It appears many of us are on the same train when it comes to suspicious first posts like this.
 
I`ve been away for a few day`s.Thats way no reply.If you notice it was late(11:54) when i joined,(tired) thats the reason for no name or local. Having said that, I`m new to detailing,just wanted some info on a product.No shill,no promoting , no nothing. Some of you guys seem to be a little parnoide and mean. Thank`s for the warm welcome.

Please accept my apologies for my part in your "Warm Welcome". It doesn't appear that you deserved all the negative comments that were made.

Thanks for clarifying ... many of us old farts have been here a long time and as Troy said in the other thread, some shills are easy to spot and others are not, and tend to jump on an unusual first post. There are some (not all) first and only posts that typically show us a new product being asked about only to find that person is a shill or spammer.
We are a family here and do tend to watch each others back...
