Jet Black Mercedes CLK430 Lorinser

This car belongs to a good friend of mine that I work with. He decided to put the car up for sale through the dealership we work for and a detailer ended up purchasing the car. He bought the car sight unseen and will be flying in to drive the car back to his home state. As soon as I heard that he owned a detail shop I knew I had to do an absolute flawless detail or else he would think I'm some kind of hack :) .

The car has very low miles for a 2001, but I am pretty sure the car has never been detailed. The paint was very sterile looking. It had sort of a "flat" look to it and lacked any real gloss or depth. It had some moderate micro marring and spiderwebbing as well.

I recently purchased some new Zaino Z5 pro which I decided to give a whirl.

Here is my process:

Washed exterior & cleaned engine compartment

Clayed with Opti-Clay & rewashed

Buffed complete exterior with Hyper Compound using foam cutting pad

Buffed complete exterior with 70% IP/ 30% RMG mix using foam cutting pad

Buffed complete exterior with FP II using a foam finishing pad

IPA wipedown

Zaino Z5 pro (ZFX'd) x2 with Z6 in between coats and after the 2nd

Let the car sit overnight

Zaino Z2 pro (ZFX'd)

Polished wheels with Wicked metal polish

Dressed tires with Super Blue Dressing

**** Here are some pictures I took of the car on an overcast day. I plan to take some exterior sun-shots by the end of the day today, so more pictures will be up later. *****

Very shiney and wet. Nice looking vehicle!!

The wheels kind of outshine the vehicle on this overcast day. They look terrific!!!

Absolutely stunning work. I've not seen a better looking black Benz. The new owner is undoubtedly going to be knocked out!
