Jeffs Prime and AJ

So I just finished trying yet another product. The Jeffs Prime, AJ and AG.

I REALLY liked the Prime. Made the car so shiny and pretty slick. Not quite as slick as Zaino but very comparable and the glos was just great.

I moved on to the AJ and unfortunately for me I didn't read enough about this product on this board and just followed the instructions on the bottle.

I applied it to the whole car and let it set before removing thinking it would work like Prime. BIIIIIG mistake man... ouch!

It was nearly impossible to get off. So I used AG to help remove it and that seemed to do the trick. Although now I wonder if I have essentially removed the AJ with the detailer.

Any opinions? Should I re-apply the AJ correctly this time hehe... do one panel at a time or do you think it's still on there?

I'm thinking the car doesn't look quite as slick and deep as it did with just the Prime. Maybe it's my imagination but I think I liked the look of the Prime all by itself. But perhaps it's because I didn't apply the AJ properly.

Anyway if anyone has any suggestions I'm all ears. In all I really really liked the Jeffs products. But the Prime was truly amazing.

I know this might be a small thing but I love the fact that I didn't have to mix the product like Z and thus didn't have to essentially waste product that I didn't use like I pretty much do every time I use Z. I don't really care about the mixing but it was always kind of annoying that I would finish a couple coats of Z and look at my little bottle and have to figure out what to do with the rest of it :)

Do any of you guys just use Prime? Or does the AJ really add to the look?

Man,

I made that mistake myself the first time I used this product. I have since switched to AJT for app purposes. I am sure that it is still on the car. I now use Prime Strong and AJT when I use his products, and love them. If you let it sit, it is as hard to remove as KSG. But wonderful protection and a great look. you can always add another layer tomorrow if you think you removed a little bit of it.

Thanks guys :)

So what about the trigger do you like better? It's essentially the same product right?

When you apply it... you do one panel and immediatly wipe off right? With the trigger do you do the same?

Yeah I let it sit for about twenty minutes thinking it was basically the same application process as with Prime... wow was that a bad move heh.

Do you guys use AG as well or do you top it with something like Z8?

I use Z8 sometimes, but I love the way AG works with it...I really like the way Menzerna HGAS works with it. As to the other question, it is the same product, just easier to use since it sprays on, rub in, and wipe off.

With AJ-T, I do a spray on, wipe of one panel at a time( and no setting)... Very easy product to use..

Sorry never tried just AJ, maybe wipe on wipe off will be a good method..

I think you put so much product on that it will take a full day to completely cure and the clarity to improve. Typically, if you apply a section at a time and remove the excess right away, you can look from the Prime only area to the Prime/AJ area and see a noticable improvement in depth and wetness.

I'd wait a day or two, then apply a second coat of AJ using the WOWO method.

Thanks Scott.

I used very thin, basically transparent coats of the AJ... pretty much the same as when I use Zaino.

I figured the main problem was I let it set for about twenty minutes before I buffed it. (I did my interior trim and windows before I buffed it)

So do you still think I used too much or is it because I had to use the AG to help remove it that I used too much?

I agree with everyone else about their experience with Prime and AJT. I would recommend that next time you try the AJT product. The spray and wipe off approach for each panel is really easier. In fact, AJT is much easier than even Prime!

Spray is the best method

Even heavily applied prime can be removed easy with a spray of Glos and a damp microfibre towel

I really don't care for wiping on AJ.

Prime Strong is my number 1 favorite AIO! It works wonders man, I couldnt believe it the first time i used it (PC).

As for AJT, I used it once and loved it, I will be ordering my own bottle very soon! So easy to apply and it takes like 15 minutes to do your whole car. I am really starting to like these spray sealants.

I love JW Acrylic prime and AJ ( AJT ). The AJ is definately hard to get off but none the less its a nice product. For Me AJ lasts longer than AJT. Essentially they are the same product , but I think AJT is AJ diluted. That's the only way I can make sense of the difference. I guess that may be why AJ lasts longer JMO. AJT is very easy to work with though. Actually I have all JW products they are all excellent.

I'm glad I'm not that only one having problems taking off AJ lol, I have the trigger version too...I found if I sprayed it on a foam pad, wiped on then gave the mf towel one quick spritz and then wiped that it was much easier to wipe off. Still looked a little streaky in the right light, kinda like NXT where it probably needs to dry a little.

What I do is as I apply it using a foam hand pad is go back over the panel and lightly work it in (without adding more product) and knock down any visible high spots. If you do that, it wipes of easily in 30 seconds or 30 minutes.
