I use a 50/50 mix when removing polish residue, but does anyone use it to remove wax residue or to correct non-dried wax smearing?

I have used Z6, Z8, 425, and cold water to fix this. It is only visible in direct sun and looks like there is an oil on the paint. I changed to clean microfibers, but they just push it around.

I have... but honestly, what I found to be more effective at removing stuff like dried wax residue is either Klasse AIO or.... more wax. No kidding. Just apply the wax, work it in a little extra, then just buff off.

I have fixed it that way.

Sometimes I just don't have the time to wait for another bit of wax to dry.

I wouldn't use the mixture to buff off wax. I'm pretty sure that you would just be stripping the protection that you just applied.

Alcohol will remove the wax, which is why it is recommended to prep most surfaces by cleaning with alcohol first before attempting to apply a sticker for example. Things adhere better to non-waxed surfaces.

I've always been curious about the dilution ratio for the 50/50 mix of Isopropyl Alcohol and water.



If the rubbing alcohol is only 70% isopropyl alcohol and the mixture is asking for 50/50, if one were to make a 10 oz solution of the 50/50 mix, are you guys diluting it 5 oz water with 5 oz of 70% isopropyl alcohol? Or would the ratio be different since the rubbing alcohol is diluted to begin with?

I think people are just diluting 70% alcohol as if it was 100% alcohol.



You can get 90% alcohol at the store, but its really not necessary... more expensive for no reason... I think 70% does a good enough job. Just do it a few times and let it dwell for a few minutes between times.
