Is this bad for my wheels and rotors?

I've been using ONR for some time now. I use a pump sprayer along with two buckets. I do the car and then the wheels last. My process for the wheels has been to first spray the wheels with ONR from the pump sprayer, I then spray some Griots wheel cleaner and then I clean the wheels with a mitt. After i've scrubbed the wheels I then do a final spray with the the ONR from the sprayer and then I dry. Am I making a mistake by using the final spray as ONR. Is ONR bad to be left on teh wheels and on the rotors? Should I switch to fresh water or am i okay.

thanks

If you are cleaning the wheels on a regular basis you can use ONR by itself and skip the wheel clean. I use a 2 gallon sprayer with ONR and a boars hair wheel brush to clean the bulk of my customers wheels. I very rarely need a wheel cleaner. I am unaware of any problems using ONR on wheels and rotors.

Using ONR on wheels and rotors is the same as using ONR on the paint. It will not cause any harm. However, my only concern is that the wheel cleaner isn't completely removed and is left on the wheel/rotors to bake from the sun and whatnot. Like PhaRO said, a wheel cleaner is not necessary every time you wash the wheels. With a good layer of wax/sealant combined with the cleaning action of ONR, you will be able to get the brake dust off easily.

If you do need the wheel cleaner, just make sure that you do remove all of it with your final spray of ONR. If I were you, and I needed to use wheel cleaner, I would probably use a conventional wash, but a final spray of ONR would probably work very well also.

Whatever is left on the rotors will be instantly ground off when the brakes are applied so it shouldn't be a problem.

Thanks for the responses. I've tried not using a wheel cleaner but it just doesn't work good. I have a 911 that produces quite alot of brake dust. I do keep the wheels waxed as well.
