I just joined and I'm a little dissapointed. I'm just curious why people take it so personally if someone suggests something different than what their direct question is. Many people ask leading questions like lawyers and gawd forbid you put in 2 cents. I recently asked if someone had compared z16 to klasse protectant, and I personally would welcome any suggestions about other protectants too. If someone says something about a sealant when I'm asking about a protectant that would be one thing, but I don't think it's a stretch to add any protectant advice and that would constitute being "off topic". I read the mission statement and I guess the position is post on a different website but that's a shame cause this does appear to be a cool place. I'm still looking for some good info, but when I need bickering I go to my girlfriends house.
 
this is the coolest detailing site in the world .. i dont take everything too serious here .. i take what i need and leave the rest behind ...

I didn't see the thread you were speaking of.

I have found that there is a lot of expierience shared at this site by many folks that have a passion for what they do. Many times it is shared with that same passion.

For the most part, with only a very very few exceptions, I have found the members at DC to be very polite, friendly, helpful, and accomodating .

In the very few exceptions I have observed a member appearing to be less than polite, the advice or expirience was shared with, let us say, more passion than diplomacy.

If you basic disappointment is that we want to keep threads on topic and not allow them to be hijacked, I highly suggest that you honor that request.

You have mentioned court and lawyers a few times now. Our desire to keep threads from being hijacked is not a problem. You are new and already complaining. Perhaps you should read for a while and get to know what Detail City is about rather than complaining. Membership is free. You should right off the bat be more appreciative of what we are offering here and willing to follow the rules.
 
Don't be disappointed just follow the rules of the board...just like a game and you'll really enjoy this site...
I'll give you a quick example ....if you go out and spend $50 on products A and B, (which could or could not be a lot of money to you, but let's say it is),
and you start a new thread asking which one would be better for cleaning your windshield....you get a couple replies and then someone says " oh i use product "C" ...is that going to do you any good? ...no ..so that is off topic....but if you are THINKING of buying a product and ask "what do you suggest for windshields", then write in anything you like....

as it was put in that thread...just answer the question..reason being is that search engines are constantly taking info from DC and people from all overthe world may hit their google search button and and put a term in...that's what they are looking for not a debate.
