Is there a time where using more product is better than using less?

I am a big believer on the 'the less product used the better' train of thought, but is there any time where you should slap on a fat coat of say wax or glaze over a nice thin coat?

I have read posts on here that say things like "wait till the wax starts cracking on the paint, then wipe it off". I've heard the same comments for using Meguiars #7 glaze.

It would be interesting to see other peoples thoughts....

The only time I find a thick coat beneficial is when trying to revitalize old-school single stage with lots of Meg's #7, a rather specialized situation that most people will never have to deal with.

Of course there is.... Drinking a nice cold beer, more is better.....:spot

Ahhmmm. For the "most" part using more of any product usually ends up as waste. Wet sanding on the other hand you can never use too mush water...

Leaving a thick #7 layer on the surface for 2-3 days is special enough... Especially BEFORE polishing... ;)

Right. But I almost hesitate to mention such stuff because somebody will try "feeding their b/c paint" that way and end up with, uhm...unsatisfactory results.

Oh, and I oughta give credit to Mike Phillips, who taught me that trick when I had a really dried-out old Jag to deal with. Gee, that was a while ago now...how time flies.
