is no one using polishing towels anymore?

seems like everyone is just using microfiber to do their polishing. Anyone still using the old smooth polishing towels?

I use microfiber on the paint. I will occasionally use the old school towels on glass or chrome.

On badly oxidized paint, I would use terry or the flannel cloth that your talking about.

does this stuff scratch? Only thing i've noticed is it gives off a good bit of lint.

Are you speaking about a smooth cotton towel for buffing off residue or applying the compound or polish?

"Polishing towel" in my opinion refers to the name the distributor has given it.....I own plush MF's, and not so plush MF's, and i consider them polishing towels.....I mean what makes it a "polishing" towel anyway ?

Im not being argumentative, just saying is there something about the weave or nap that gives it additional polishing power ?

I like towels that are plush for buffing off residue. That residue isn't very soft and can leave scratches. A flat towel with no plush doesn't give the residue any place to go. It's just pushed across the surface.



So, I don't use the flat ones for buffing off residue at all. They got to be plush.
