Is it important to use one line of products?

Trying to decide what products to purchase for the first time, is there any need to stick with the same line of products for detail? I figured I would get a couple polishes in either the Poorboys line or Optimum. If I were to get the Poorboys products would I get better results if I then used the EX or EX-P as apposed to a completely different sealant like say Megs #21?
 
Nope, it's easier if you stick to the same line of polishes if you're a beginner but mix/matching LSP's is fine
 
You do not need to use one line of products if you don't want to. Some people like sticking with one brand, it doesnt make it any easier or better looking. It is just personal preference. I have products for all different brands because I like to try new things. I use Hi-Temp for my compound, Optimum for my medium-moderate swirls...and Menzerna as my Final Polish.



If you're just starting out I would suggest the Optimum Line for polishes, they are the most user friendly in my opinion. It is sometimes easier to work within one line, but it's not always necessary. It really comes down to personal preference.
 
Thanks for the replies. I think I'm going to go for Optimum Compound and Polish, Megs #21, and Collinite wax (845 or 476) for the winter. I just need to find where I can get the stuff in one place along with pads, and possibly a PC if I don't get the 7336 at Lowes.
