Iron X & Opti-Bond super combo- pics

I recently acquired a black porsche that is "generously covered" with swirl marks. The paint is in very good condition, but I'd like to clean it up, get rid of the swirls and apply a good wax. Should I apply the swirl remover, and then the hand glaze? Or am I better off choosing one OR the other?

New to fine car care. Thanks in advance!

It basically coats the car with oil which fills in hairline scratches and swirls on a very temporary basis. Some people apply a wax on top to extend durability, but after a few washes the swirls come back. I would only use this method to hide imperfections temporarily for a car show or sale of the vehicle. The only other time I would go this route was if it was a rarely driven garaged car that was detailed often useing a carnuba wax topper. You will get the best results in those applications in my opinion.

In reality, I would get the car perfect using a mild abrasive swirl remover like 3M SMR. After that, wash, and apply your favorite sealant. Remember Zaino Z5 will "fill" any remaining minor swirling after your clean up and help keep the car swirl free.

They do work together. I use 3M SMR and HG followed by Pinnacle Souveran. I find the HG fills swirls I have not completely polished out. Another great solution is Zaino Z5. Excellent at filling swirls.

If I just need to clean (and not polish) I use Pinnacle Paintwork Cleansing Lotion. My paint was in really bad condition when I got the car a few months ago. It's looking much better now...

I don't recommend using 3M SMR more than about twice a year.

Thanks guys. So I'm gonna:

1. Wash & dry

2. Apply 3M SMR

3. Apply either 3M Hand Glaze or Zaino Z5

4. Apply Pinnacle Souveran wax (I was also looking at Blitz -- any comments on either of these??)

5. Enjoy a deep, glossy shine. :D

This sound about right??

Thanks!

I didn't think you could apply a carnuba on top of Zaino??

<strong class='bbc'>You should also clay your car between steps one and two (or wash your car with ABC wash in step one).

As for the differences between Souveran and Blitz, click the following link:

FYI, Spinnergy

ABC is not just a wash the wash is the 3rd step in the system, the first 2 products are applied to the vehicle and allowed to dwell on the surface for 5-7 min. Look up the review in the product review section. The process takes about 45 min. from start to finish so the time committment is about the same as clay.
