Today we're putting up the reigning champion of Carpro's Iron X LS vs Dodo Juices version Ferrous Dueller Iron Remover

CarPro Iron X Lemon Scent 1 Liter

Dodo Juice Ferrous Dueller Iron Remover

Here are the combatants!

In the Left side we have New Challenger up and new to the Iron Remover category DODO JUICE FERROUS DUELLER IRON REMOVER!!!!

On the right side we have long time champion, and coming in with a new scent (still smells BAD) LEMON SCENT IRON X!!!!!!!

Initial Thoughts:
Dodo looks a little thicker not so watery like IX, more of a gel type texture. Dodo surprisingly doesnt smell bad at all, compared to IX Cherry or Lemon scent smell horrible. Since i bought the 1L size of dodo and IX i didnt get any sprayers and had to use my own.

Lets get it on!

Blue tape down the middle and right side of the hood IX and left side Dodo

As you can see IX is a lot more runny and dodo's is a lot more clingy. Initially it didnt look good for the new challenger.

Couldnt really capture the difference after rinsing it off but me and 2 of my buddies could've of sworn that dodo's side looked "whiter" and when it came time to clay, there was less contaminants on the Dodo's side. heres a pic of a local member coming down to my house playing with my rupes 21

Results:
We have an upset ladies and gentlemen!
Reason i say this is because of Dodo's gel consistency clings to the paint a lot better and i can imagine it being an awesome wheel cleaner as well. Me and 2 other people all agreed that Dodos side just looked whiter and had less to clay on Dodo's side.

Next round will be Sonax Full Effect wheel cleaner vs Dodo ferrous dueller iron remover on wheels.

Nice review. Good comparison between the two. I have also heard good thing sbout auto finesse's iron remover.

great review...i love the idea of a non horrible smelling iron remover
and i feel like i waste alot of iron x when trying to do wheels. thicker consistency sounds much better there

Yea i hear that as well, i might end trading some Dodo iron remover for some AF iron out with a friend of mine

Nice review.

This has got me thinking now as I love my IronX.

i love mine too but the smells is bad lol

Yea i'll be trying dodo on some wheels soon and see how it compares to sonax full effect.
and it smells great lol

I wonder if we can get the MSDS sheets for both and compare the active ingredients to determine why/how they work and why they stink...

Thank you for the quick comparison.

few things i would like to mention about IronX LS

1. pls dont sniff direct from the bottle , it will always smell bad from the bottle.
if you have notices , after spray, in the room area , at least at the ironx side you could feel much less harsh smell .
the idea was to reduce the smell after spraying . the smell factor is parallel to the strength of the active materials.

2. the new formula has more hydrophilic effect on the surface, yes its still liquid low viscosity but this is to make you eco save ironx while spraying rather using more squirts for bigger area for more viscose type spray.
ironX is very powerful and react very fast on the surface so while it slides down it continue to work on the paint.

the best way to see which one is better is to try each product on the other side and see who continue to dissolve irons over the surface.

will do Avi, the owner of the car might come back soon so we will decon his roof or doors. (cant do the trunk since his rear bumper got repainted recently)

But it is true though IXLS did react faster than Dodo did but i didnt know if it was because i sprayed that side first
thank you for taking the time to read my review Avi, you and Corey are awesome!:yourrock

Nicely done review!!

Avi is right about not smelling IXLS directly. Don't forget that Car Pro makes IX paste also. Fantastic for nasty wheels and bing a paste/gel, it doesn't dry as fast as other options.

Waddup Mr Jim how you been?
I was comparing the smell since we did it inside my garage and the smell was still pretty bad

I'm good bud!! U?

I have had better luck with the new IX as far as scent. The old stuff literally made me sick. But I have a good exhaust fan to help me out when I use it inside. Unfortunately the active ingrident smells so it can only be covered up. Perhaps the fine folks at Dodo found a better method. Once again, nice review and you have peaked my interest.

Sooo....I have been out of this a while..what does this really do? Is it getting something out claying and compound/polish do not?

tbh - the active ingredient in both is the same, any feeling that one is better smelling than the other will be VERY subjective. it is an incredibly difficult smell to mask.... and Dr Oldz, remember that we also have the Supernatural Ferro Lube which is the clay lubricant formulated with the iron decontaminating active ingredient. this makes the process of preping the paint very efficient.
