I am excited to be part of the forum. As a young teenager, the SS series of Chevy's were my favorite cars, but my father said there was no way. A short time later I was drafted into the Army, and one never came up over the next 30 years. During this time El Caminos became an attactive vehicle. On July 3, the best of both worlds came together for me - I purchased a 1970 SS 396 El Camino with all numbers matching, not a clone. My brother and I are in the process of doing off the frame restoration and I look forward to the knowledge this forum can assist me in this adventure. I am not restoring it to flip, it will be my everyday vehicle as I move in to the Great Years.

Very nice. That is my favorite generation of El Camino's especially with it being a SS . Welcome and good luck with the build!

welcome to AF. that'll be an awesome ride when you finish. be sure to post some pics as you progress with the restoration. remember, slow and steady wins that race.

Thanks for the great welcome. I will post pictures as I porgress. I have obtained an original 1970 El Camino Owner's manual and an original Delco 1970 Radio service manual. I plan to take my time and touch every piece of the car. I look forward to conversations with all of you and learn from your experiences.
