My name is Steve, live in Dover, England, and I drive a Mondeo ST220, registered May '04, in Performance Blue with 'Light Flint' leather interior. The interior is set off by a set of blue led's which look the dog's ******** at night (well I think so, wife thinks it's an expensive cure for a mid-life crisis). The only engine mod is a K&N panel filter.

Anyway, have recently stocked up on Megs products and will soon be undertaking my 1st 'proper' car clean using the following :

a) Wash with Gold Class Shampoo & Conditioner.

b) Dry using Water Magnet.

c) Clay Bar (using Quick Detailer as lubricant) Q - Do I wash & dry again, or just dry after this stage? If just drying which type of cloth?

d) Deep Crystal Paint Cleaner applied with foam pad.

e)Deep Crystal Polish applied with foam pad.

f)Gold Cass Liquid Wax appled with foam pad.

I intend to use Supreme Shine MF cloths, as opposed to terry towels, for the removal/buffing of each product?

Does this sound about right? or should I include DC Carnauba Wax (which I haven't brought yet) before GC Liquid Wax? I know that the clay bar is only to be used 2 - 3 times per year.

Some of the products are removed before they cure, which ones?

As this is my first time detailing I will be doing it all by hand. In the future I will buy a PC. Will any of the cleaning products I already have be suitable for use with a PC? Or, will I have to buy new products?

I will post pictures of my car when it has been detailed (it can be seen in the garage section of stdrivers.co.uk, seach on my user name 'stevest220'.

PS, found this site after seeing it mentioned on both stdrivers.co.uk and detailingworld.co.uk

Welcome, Steve!!! That 1st 'proper' clean will take you forever, but you'll be so pleased when it's done! After the first one, you'll learn where you can cut time and effort.

You definitely will wanto to use MF cloths rather than terry towels for removal and buffing.

I'm sorry I can't answer any of your product-specific questions, as I've not used any of those products before...hopefully someone else will chime in with some advice.

Would love to see some photos. :)
