Interior Detail Cayenne

Real former piggy owners of this Cayenne. Kids used the back of the front seats as a drawing board and a place to practice dance steps, ink on the leather, french fries and some sort of fruity cereal under the seats.

I tackled this interior (exterior comes later) with my steamer, an eraser pad, latex gloves and alot of scrubbing.

I took this BEFORE shot of the passenger's back of the front seat but took an AFTER of the drivers side:doh But you'll still notice the difference I hope.

Before -

Now the AFTER -

Driver side carpet was the worst. Driver seat had blue jean transfer also which the eraser pad pretty much removed, at least 98% of it.

The carpets were steamed and then extracted.

Rear seats had ink stains on them which were removed using Leathermasters "Super Cleaner". This cleaner is rather potent and should be used with extreme caution as it can lift pigment from the surface you're using it on.

Using a small dab on a towel and then rubbing in small circles over the ink stains broke them up and either completely removed the stains or lightened them up to where you really need to look for them. You then want to clean a larger area so as to blend the area in.

This is what greeted me when I lifted the rear seats -

In this next picture......you see those colorful round globes?? Well that is a model of the molecular makeup of Turtle Wax:rofl

After vacuuming up that mess I sprayed the area down with cleaner, let it dwell and then blasted it with my steamer.

Well thanks for viewing, I'll have the exterior pics up in the next day or so. I have been very busy lately with very little time to take BEFORE and AFTER shots.

LOL Did the kids run a candy shop back there? That's simply some amazing interior work.

Can you give more insight as to how you use the steamer. Like what attachments were used to do the back of the seats and what attachment was used on the carpet? Also when you mentioned eraser pad, is this something like Mr. Clean's Magic Eraser?

Wow, that's amazing. Not just the cleanup, but how the owners of a Porsche can treat such a car.

Hope the exterior wasn't as bad as that interior...or was it...?!?!?

I use two different heads on my steamer when cleaning. A triangular head and also a slender nozzle cleaner. The triangular head is used on the mats and carpets and also the large flat areas of the seats, headliners can be done also with a towel attached over the head.

So with these seats I vacuumed them well, making sure to get in the seams, and then sprayed cleaner on them and brushed the seats in a circular motion and before drying the seat I hit it with my steamer. This loosens up any imbedded grime that the bruch missed and pretty much emulsifies the grime. I then remove the gunk with a microfiber towel.

The nozzle gives me a jet stream of hot steam so that's used in tight spaces like cup holders, seat rails, pedals, etc. I never use the nozzle on carpets, at least with full power, as it can cause trails in the carpets that never seem to come out. Only use the nozzle on low with carpets.

Yes the eraser pad is like the Mr. Clean pads.

Thank you for the kind words also :)

Zaino,

Thanks buddy, much appreciated. I am planning a 3 day trip up to the Dallas area come Spring time to do some detailing on several Porsche's. I hope to meet up with Scott, Larry and perhaps we can get together also.

Pats, Bob, Greg,corolla and tod,

Thank you also for the :2thumbs: ....and yes the exterior was pretty nasty also....BUT it seems to be cleaning up pretty nice. I'll have pics of that later.

Take care,

Anthony

Excellent. Sometimes I'm unable to remove blue jean transer even with the Magic Eraser pad or even with strong degreaser. Sometimes it just seems to be dyed.

Thanks Scott and Andy:)

Try some Leathermaster Super Cleaner. You need to be careful using it but that stuff cuts right through that blue jean transfer.

Thanks Rag,

Anthony
