Interior Dash/Vinyl Cleaner?

Hi All,

Just a quick question on interior vinyl cleaner.

I'm getting a new Golf and I'm sure I read how ArmorAll could do serious damage to certain types of interiors if used over time.

This got me thinking - is this down to a specific ingrediant in some vinyl cleaners that should be avoided (if you know it has it), or is there just something particularly nasty about armorall?

Basically is there much between them other than the matt/gloss levels?

I'm in the UK and choice is a little limited, we have the well known UK stuff like Autoglym, the stores own brands, and the "globals" such as TW, ArmorAll and recently Meguiars.

TIA

Paul

i would go with meguiar's vinyl cleaner #40. It wont harm your dash or door trims and leave a clean feeling along with protection.

Autoglym is water based and will not harm plastic, ArmourAll contains the wrong type of silicone, I cannot remember what is in the TW stuff, except it seems to be far to shinny for me.

If the Autoglym is to glossy, buff it off after a few minutes, with a MF towel, I apply with a foam pad, which ensures a consistent coverage.
