Interesting coating concern/question

Ronkh

Wax Waster
Here is an interesting concern/discussion question.......

Since MOST of the "coatings" are a glass/silica composition, and are made to make it easier to care for and maintain the finish........ Lots of people/customers will probably take their vehicles through "touchless" washes, here is a potential problem.......

Good point Ron, I will start taking the beater car to a touchless to see if it deteriorates the coating.

Cool thought, although in my experience, coatings do a very good job at resisting any touchless car wash I have used. Now if a car wash uses a stong/non-properly mixed dilution of acid, I suppose it could damage the coating, but I would hate to see the effect it would have on the rest of the car....

I thought this was kinda interesting, so decided to throw it out there.....

I figure if Honda made a service bulletin about it there may be something to it.......

Unless they of course were trying to get out of recalling bad windshield

I think that Honda bulletin brings up some valid concerns. IF chemicals from a car wash damage the finish or glass of a vehicle they should not be covered by warranty. However, if the chemicals are mixed properly by the car wash place, I don't see there being any problems.

Todd, you're taking for granted that other people do their jobs with the dedication, attention to detail and caring that you and rest of Max's crew do.

Fact is lots of people don't
