I think Gonzo is in a hurry, but if I had a truck like that I would drive in the rightlane and make them go around just to show off.

Nice SVT :) If it came with 3.73's I would go for 4.30's personally. Don't forget the sped cal !

EDIT - sorry saw that you already got the 4.10's.....enjoy !

Aren't you woried with that light rear end you are going to have no end of traction problems?

I am just getting into mods on my Mustang. So far all I have done is install a Magnaflow catback but more goodies are in the works.

Here is a small mpg movie from a '99 GT with the same exhaust.

Magnaflow Catback Sound

Blackcaraddit: SOTP???

rightlane: Hurry? Just want to be the first to the posted speed limit - he he

Mosca: One day you will see the light.....

Thanks, Pat....

STL: After 4:10's I think the next available is 4:56's, unless you get a custom grind, but don't quote me on that

Traction I don't think will be much of a problem - the L is a 4800 pound red brick. Also have a few other mods - 3 pound pulley, chip, 12" cone filter, single blade throttle body, Basanni exhaust from the heads back (Wicked sound!), shift kit in the tranny, traction bars. Dynos at 375 RWHP 471 RWTQ at 90 degrees F on street program running 92 octane - mild for a L in our club.

gonzo: i'm assuming you're running the stock blower, right? ever thought about stepping up to a KB?

oh and SOTP = seat of the pants....ya know, the ol' butt dyno :D

Won't even consider running a KB until I get a built bottom end and better heads, and better tranny, and .....

Gonzo- Besides making sure your install is done right (i.e., it's not whiny), and the speedo gets properly calibrated (I'm not familiar with Fords, dunno if it's a MECHANICAL calibration or a reprogramming job), AND the tranny still shifts right (again, dunno about Fords, but it can be an issue with GM's- programming again) be SURE to check for vibration at all speeds. Sometimes going past OE ratios requires a better-balanced driveshaft and/or other tweaks. Some vehicles just don't like everything spinning faster while others don't mind at all. Here's hoping your truck isn't one of the "sensitive" ones!

Accumulator,

My truck was "born" on a Tuesday -- HOOAH!

I have a chip that takes into account the shift points, gear ratios, etc. Many other club members have 4:10's as well and the only complaint they have is regarding traction. But they all are producing way more HP & TQ than I. 4:10 whining won't be an issue because the exhaust I have even overpowers the supercharger whine....

The install will be done by a rear-end specialist who does only rear ends, for purpose built race vehicles, 2WD & 4 WD, and us "little guys" who just dabble with racing.
