Input re: Detailing Courses

As I am now just an amateur ocd enthusiast, I am seriously considering making this a second career.

There are a number of opportunities for me to enroll in a professional detailing course and my goal is to learn the basics.

The cost for these courses range from about $800 to over $4000 plus travel and lodging expenses. Since I am such a novice in this arena I am not sure if the higher end is worth the expense. This endeavor would not be my primary source of income and I have a good grasp of business practices.

I fully understand that years of experience cannot be matched with a few days of training and that is not my intent. I simply would like to get the basics correct.

Any advice, input, thoughts or criticisms from you professionals would be much appreciated.

Warmest regards,
Tom

tom, don't be afraid to learn the basics on your own, especially if money is a problem. a basic intro to detailing dvd, a good da polisher setup, and asstd. products will get you safely started. give todd a call at autopia car care and he can calm your fears. i think most of us didn't have formal class training to start. i'm still learning daily from the experiences of others here at AF and avoiding some unnecessary headaches. try to keep it fun. :bigups
