Inline water filter. Need advice, which one, do they work?

Need some advice on these. I found two versions.

Griot's Garage 1-800-345-5789 - Car Care

and the two part system from autogeek. I was leaning towards this one, but Griot's Garage version is much simpler for me.

How long do these filters work for? Say I use it for 3 basic washings a week. For theoretical purposes, let's just say the water is average, meaning not a ton of iron or none.

I hope they last awhile because the replacements for Griot's Garage is $110!

For the 2 part at AG they are only $20.

Anyone have some input on this?

I have the one from PW Gazette and am pleased. It doesn't make it 100% spot free, but helps tremendously. Becasue my water is so hard, I use it for wash as well as rinse. Then, I have one of those plastic spaghetti containers with a lid that I put it in when I'm done. Fill it with water and a handfull of salt and it's always ready to go. I leave the filter case hooked up all the time (mounted to my house) and just remove the cartidge when I'm not washing cars.

Same here but I have quick disconnects so I can run through the filter housing or bypass it ;)
