Information on hoists?

Hey guys - I am going to be purchasing a hoist in the near future. Honestly, I have very little info on them. I figured I'd ask here, since some of you probably have them. The space will be a 24x16 garage (very large one car, or tight two car), so I'd like it to be fairly low profile, so I can park on it daily, but use when needed.

Any info/links are appreciated!

Thanks.

Probably a 2 post, since I intend on putting it where I normally park and don't really intend on using it to store a vehicle, just to work on one. I am doing more reading on them, tbh I I'm a lift noob, so it's all rather new to me.

We have a Bend Pac in our garage and its served us well for a few years. Definitely go with a two post, since they allow you to do more work on a vehicle. The four post lifts are pretty much only good for storing a vehicle, so they're about as useful as a third coat of Zaino.:grinno:

If you're planning to park on it all the time and only raise the vehicle up now and then, I'd sure look into a scissors type lift. The posts would possibly be in your way all the time (consider opening the doors...) depending on how far you pull in when you park.

One benefit is it will be a very long garage. Not super wide, but it'll be long enough to get two cars in easily; so ya a two post seems best. Just put it further back, and don't pull all the way in when not using it. Bend Pac, eh? Someone else mentioned them too, I'll look into it, thanks.
