Hi all,

I'm looking to get an AWD sedan. These are the 2 i'm down to. any thoughts? Acura is a tad bigger, a bit more expensive, not as pretty (in my opinion) but a better service package. Anyone have any additional insight? is this a no-brainer and i'm missing something? any help much appreciated. thx

Totally different philosophies behind the cars the Acura is a FWD biased AWD the Infiniti is RWD biased. I think the Acura might get better fuel economy. Either car is awesome.

What about Lexus GS series? I've always loved those cars..avail in AWD...I'm also a huge Subaru enthusiast so when it comes to AWD...definitely a great car..just nothing in that class.

I have a 2010 Tl, not the AWD version, but I will tell you that it is a very comfortable car to ride in, handles great, all radio controls are perfectly situated if you dont want to use the voice activated system. I get good gas mileage out of it, which I am sure would change slightly with the awd version. The heated leather seats warm up quickly, too. There is a ton of trunk space, and being 6'5", interior leg room was a must, and this has it, as well as alot of head room. Although, the awd version also has a bigger motor, mine has plenty of power, with much to spare. The paint finish seems to be overt good, also. The only thing that I don't like is the felt lined wheel wells. Other than that, I couldn't be happier. I initially was tossed betwee the TL and the Maxima, but didn't care for the position of the radio controls on the dash, particularly, the GPS controls...it just seemed a little hard to reach. The maxima was a great looking car, and rode just as nice as the Acura. The radio control position as well as the better price on the Acura is what drove me to buy the TL. Hope this helps you out.

Those are great cars. I test drove one back in 2008 when I was looking at a car for my now wife. The GS has a very comfortable ride. I did find the experience to be kind of underwhelming so personally. It rode well but it just did not provide me with any feedback or driving excitement. On the upside the GS has been around for ages and is highly reliable from what I hear - plus you could get a CPO and no one would be wiser.

Another choice - if you would not mind going smaller would be the IS350 AWD. I drive a BMW but have had a lot of problems with the turbo engine. In my assessment, I would stay away from the 335 xi and give the technology a couple of years to perfect. Yes BMW changed the engine from a twin turbo to a single turbo but both engines use a high pressure fuel pump which has a higher failure rate than average.

In all honesty, if I were in the market for an AWD sedan, the choice would be between the Infiniti and Acura. Since I love power, I would probably take the G37 AWD.

I think Acura's SH-AWD system defaults to a 90/10 split in normal driving, and up to 70% can be sent to the back wheels, and 100% of that to either rear wheel.

You could probably get a leftover 2011 for a significant discount.
