Incorrect clearfilm correction advice

Saw this today on Rennlist in the detail section, after this info was put up another "Non-pro" detailer corrected the advice ............... wonder if anyone will pick up on who posted this :third: so full of failness.







Minor Scratches



To remove minor scratches in the film use a high speed buffer (70 PPI LC White foam pad) at 1000 RPM only using the weight of the machine as pressure and lightly go over the area. It is important not to apply a lot of pressure to the film as this may lead to burning of the surface. Work from the centre then towards the edges, not the other way as you may ‘catch’ an edge and cause it to tear. Use a Q-tip and some isopropyl alcohol to clean out the edge



Zymol HD-Cleanse- a true polish and paint cleanser, which works very well on clear film. It will restore the lustre and shine back in the film and either eliminate the scratches or make them less visible.

 
I read that forum all the time and see soooo many bad detailing posts. I gave up trying to offer correct advice because the posters and "experts" (phhht) are so defensive and mean spirited.

Well he is our "Resident expert" at giving advice on things he has not done(At least he has done the "Research") so in this case "garbage in/out", I am at my limit with people trying to be more than they are with the Bluster & Bullpoop .





Now hear this....................if you are not sure or have a idea keep it to yourself or post it on "Village experts" on youtube so some guy just trying to get better does not go down a deadend street or worse ruin a clearfilm install on a customers vehicle.



I am not going to go into all the specifics(For well known reasons) but if you use a rotary to get deep marring out of film you will be sorry and chase your tail for EVER....................

That was what made me ditch forums like that looooong ago and resulted in me finding Autopia. Still nothing like a dedicated detailing community forum. :bigups

Found this thread when searching for the correct way to polish out defects in a clear bra, any advice? I've only attempted to do it once years ago using Menzerna IP on a DA and was not having it. Polish was sticking to the bra and wouldn't easily remove. I haven't had any cars with bra's since, but was always curious to know if swirls, bug staining and UV breakdown in a clear bra was correctable.
