In your humble opinions, which product line gives the best shine?

The reason I am asking is because I am new to detailing and just got a rather new 2004 Honda Accord V6. The paint is pretty much flawless except for a few light scratches around the rear passenger side door handle.

I just bought a PC 7336-SP (no pads yet) from the local Lowes. Previously, I bought the Zaino Ultimate Show Car Kit from Zaino Bros. and did the car by hand. I love the results and have learned that Zaino (pro) stuff is highly regarded on all the forums I have been to.

However, being new to detailing (I started out with Turtle Wax lol!), I would like you guy's opinions on if there is a product line or combination of different products that produce a similiar or better shine than the Zaino system. My car is a dark "sparkly" red. (Sorry, sparkly red is the best way I can describe it lol!)

I have heard a lot of good things about Souveran, Klasse, Natty's, Meg's, and a few others. I am still learning some backgrond info on these other products but still would like for you guys to chime in on this.

Here is a pic for color reference:

Waddya mean?

He means that what looks "better" is a matter of opinion, and there is no shortage of them on this board. Get ready because here comes mine: :D

Stick with the Zaino. You've already got it, it's a great product, and I think you will be happy with it. Zaino isnt my go to product as of right now; however, I've never had a problem with it when I did use it. Put the extra money into some nice pads. I think you got the Z-PC with you kit didnt ya? Use that to take care of the swirls and scratches and seal that puppy with some Z.

Edit: If Klasse is something you are considering, I would suggest doing a search and reading as much as you can about application. I dont find it that hard, but I knew what I was in for if I didnt do it right. If you're totally new to detailing, I would reccommend cutting your teeth on some easy to use products. I'd say Poorboys would be a good starting point for you.

What he means is that many people have a different opinion of what looks "best", so you're not going to be able to get 1 answer. If 10 people responded to you with that they thought looked best, you'd probably get 9 different answers.

I hear you. I didn't get the ZPC though. I only have a few small light scratches around one of the door handles and thats it. No swrills, haze, or holograms.

I was just looking up the Pinnacle Souveran wax ($80 bucks!!! Holy Moly!!!) and the sample pics had great shine to them. How would you rate that product?

In terms of polishes, IMO Menzerna leaves the best shine. Souveran will mute out the metallics on your car, so you might not get all the benifits. I also think it depends on the type of car to use Souveran on, I use it on cars with curvy lines, because Souveran will make them look liquid. For your car, that has relatively flat lines, Souveran may not reach it's full potential. I'd stay stick with Zaino if you like it.

looks like the identical color accord i just worked on yesterday. here is a finished angle shot of it (2004 model):

this was sealed with Duragloss products (601/105 combo...then AquaWax). it should give you something to compare your Zaino'd accord with. i use Zaino on my TL and Duragloss on my winter car. IMO, Duragloss is 80-90% equal to Zaino in all aspects (even smell)...but a fraction of the cost.

I have a red metaflake RX8. I use Souveran. No muting here it fact the opposite for me. Use what is good for you. JMHO

Pinnaclewax.com has a 15% discount using code SMARTSHOPPER2 .......

I know Souveran would look amazing on your car, but has a high price tag. RMG + Nattys Blue would make it look pretty amazing for about 40 bucks.

Chemical Guys 5050 has been great - really competes with the high flying waxes like souveran, and victoria concours(another great wax). The victoria and 5050 are about $40. Also, that discount 15% is great (thanks MDRX8).

Note, these are carnauba, imo,are my first choice but in the winter months I switch to sealants like Zaino or Duragloss.

You see, this is the beauty of this forum - there are so many products and combinations that will each give a slightly different finish and look better to some people than others. One is forced to just start ordering them up to try for themselves. All of the recommendations are great, but you are the only one that can decide what looks best. Time to break out the credit card and find out for yourself. Have fun! :xyxthumbs

A loaded question that could get you into a heated debate. Your best recourse would be to try out several lsps, and determine which product shows up in your in person review, as well as which lsp gives you the best result.

But since you've asked.........I've yet to see an lsp that is as deep or has as much visual range as one of the Estate Glazes by Zymol.........but that's my opinion.

a superfine finishing polish will give the best shine

I must agree with this. The "best shine" comes from the best paint cleaning and best polishing that you can do. What you put on it after that is just a side order.

LOL I often have trouble deciding which look I want on my Red MR2. Sometimes I like the bright clear plastic look of a sealant. At other times I like the warm deep glow of a carnauba. Right now I'm liking the glow left by NXT topped with Meg's Hi-Tech Yellow Wax. Not only is the "best shine" purely subjective it also is affected by the lighting you are looking at the paint with, and at least for me, the mood I'm in. ;)
