Hey guys, wondered if you have ever heard of, or used an In Car Ionizer. Was thinking of buying one within a week or two, but don't want to if its just a gimmick that doesn't work. For those who don't know what it is, click on the link below.

The Product

Sounds like it would be quite cool to keep in the car...specially since i have 3 cigarette lighters in the car to plug it in to heheh

I tried something similar to this before...It didn't seem to work too well and it stopped working after a couple of months of use. I would try putting a box of that Arm & Hammer that comes in a box (somewhere secure inside in the car) or air freshners.

I use the other one from sharper image. they have two..the one you have shown and this one Double-barrel ionizer .

It can run on either battery or plugged in..(or direct wire if you want to be creative...)..it runs for 30 mins and then shuts off so it wont drain your battery. I just pop it on right when i get out of the car and it runs after i'm out and lock up..it gets rid of all the odors and my car smells nice and fresh when i get in. IT DOES WORK. I have a friend who smokes and if he is in my car after he smokes it usually lingers for a few hours, but with this it is gone in 30 mins.

Might be just the thing to use after I eat at Taco Bell. ;)

Still kind of skeptical though about how well they really work.

tempted to buy one from the airport on the 27th when i go back home for easter, i'll provide an in depth review :D

The concept of ionized air works.

I used to own a BIG Martini and Cigar Bar... I literally had a walkin 'closet' of ionized air cleaners, plus four desktop units around the club. Made a significant improvement, even with 300 people smoking!

Try it and let us know. Also, how clever can one be with inconspicuous installation?

Jim

well as regards to in conspicuous, my suv has 3 cigarette lighter ports in it, in the dashboard, in the glove box and in the boot...so i'll find somewhere :D

Remember to clean the area around the ionizer- if it works, it's gonna draw (and deposit) a lot of dirt. Like when you plug one into an outlet in your house, wherever the ionizer is, there's gonna be dirt stuck to the surrounding areas (we have a bunch of them in the house).
