I came to this site a couple weeks ago with no idea how to take care of my new car. Several of you offered advice, and here's the results, after clay, AIO, and two coats of SG. I'll put a third on next weekend.

I'm soooooo happy!

You folks are the best! :bow

Thanks again,

Alex

:bounce :bigups BEAUTIFUL CAR! I love M3's Nice work for not knowing much about what to do just a couple weeks ago :)

Keep up the good work

Looks awesome! If you get bored with the SG, try topping it with P21S/S100............... that color is just begging for P21S.

Of course, once you start topping with carnauba, you won't be able to go back to SG without stripping.

P.S............. Great car!

I got lots of help from this site. The first coat of SG was a real pain, I thought I had removed it all, but continued to find it days later. (Note to self: gas station flourescents at night are amazing for finding flaws in my work.) Anyway, went back and searched the site and found the wet MF/dry MR SG removal technique. Worked exactly as advertised!

Yeah, not sure what I'm going to do after the SG. I had originally planned on P21S, but some others recommended stopping after the SG.

The car is generally only driven weekends and stays under cover in a garage, so protection isn't as important to me as the look.

I guess I'll make a decision in a couple weeks!

Sweet car! Now that you've become addicted to detailing, Welcome aboard!

Your friends and neighbors won't understand, but that's ok, just enjoy the new addiction!!! :p

Uhhhh, you should have seen the looks I got when people assumed I was "waxing" the new car two weekends in a row. Wonder what they think when I'm back out there putting on the third coat of SG next weekend....

Such a beautiful car. Im 19 and just dream of an M3, Im truly a BMW enthusiast at heart. I had a 1989 BMW 325i and it was an awesome car. Your car looks great and when I get another BMW I hope to keep it just as clean.

Your too lucky to have a car like that!

Ryan,

I started dreaming about owning an M3 back when I was in my early 20's. I dreamed about it while I raised 4 sons and through about 5 different jobs. It only took me 20 years to finally be able to do it! Here's to hoping you don't have to wait as long! ;)

Alex

Well it looks like all that waiting paid off! :up

My E30 BMW was my first car and I loved it. The German engineering, awesome straight six, and looks gave me a grin everytime I drove it. I really need to return to the BMW world soon...

Yep............ understand your dilemma! It's a good one to have! :D

I did my friends M3 last summer.......... same color as yours I believe. After a light polishing, I did AIO/UPP x 2 in one weekend...... he was impressed. The following weekend, I topped with 2 x P21S, and QD'ed with Final Detail............. he was blown away! :xyxthumbs

hey i got the same exact car except no red leather and i got the 19's. I am so jealous of the red leather it looks really good.

I just zainoed my car last week and topped with s100 which is the same as p21s and it looked so much better. I was also worried about topping a sealant many people said dont do it because it affects the durability of the sealant but I dont think u are to worried with the durability. So i say go ahead and top with s100. It is really easy to apply and take off. Good job with the detailing thus far.
