I'm at a Crossroads....Opinions

Just One More Coat
We moved into this house 14 months ago...(i know seems like yesterday:D) When I transferred all my services over the newspaper for what ever reason was one that I had problems with...they delivered for one week, then it stopped...called in and they said they didn't have my new address (go figure)...this went on for about a month...I would go out and it was not there, I would call and they said that I had canceled...NO!!...then they had problems with billing saying that the card on file was not working...that's funny everyone else including the wife are not having problems with it!!!:wow:...

It got to the point that I told them either get it right or I would cancel the subscription.....so I got a call from the head person at the subscription department....they assured me that it was taken care of and thanked me for my patience in the matter...

So here in lies the issue....about three months back we had some issues with our bank account....Wells Fargo said that it looked like someone hacked into one of our accounts:eek:...they decided to close that one and reopen a new one for us, they covered everything that was missing:bigups

That account had the auto pay thing for the newspaper...in this whole time they have not stopped delivery, called or sent any mail about the card not working.

My issue is do I call and say something, or just let them keep delivering the paper.

To top it off...I looked at past statements from the old account...and they have not billed me for the last year:notme:

Do what's right. If it was your business and you performed a service wouldn't you want paid?:passout:

I totally agree with getting paid....I really didn't pay any attention to it over this last year...IMO I had everything in place that they had asked for...if something on their end is screwed up, and it obviously is...is that my fault or theirs?

IMO if a business plans to survive they need to have in place checks or audits that catch this stuff...its not my job to police there accounts receivable

What? People still read the newspaper? I thought everyone got their news from an internet source nowdays?!?!?

Just kidding Beemer. :) Even though I truly don't see much use for newspapers anymore. Why do I want to read yesterday's news today?

I'm ole school I still like reading the paper in the evenings....food & wine section...looking threw the car ad's...or ad's in general to see what people are selling...reading articles that interest me...as for breaking stories your right the net is the place for that

Call them and give them the necessary information to pay for your newspaper. Tell them what the bank stated and let them sort out the rest.

I am not sure if the two problems are related from reading your story but the way I read it it could very well have mitigated the papers delivery problems at some point.

They have not billed me in the last year...the only thing that flagged this for me was when we had to close one account and open a new one....I had to change all kinds of things online and auto pay ...the the NP its something that they would have caught before I would have....my local gym called me the very next month and I took care of that....in today's age there are a lot of things that we can setup on an auto process and we take our minds off it...the NP was one of those
