IHG Question

If I use IHG as my last step before waxing, are there any oils in IHG that I need to remove before I apply the final wax coat? If so, what product do you recommend? THANKS

Uhhhh.... well, no. If IHG is anything like #7, then you will want to use it as a first step. In my experience, #7 will strip whatever it's put on. It stripped my Klasse.

My Klasse is currently filing sexual harassment charges against #7.

Like he said, you want the oils from IHG. That's why it's called a "glaze." It hides the little imperfections - swirls, small scratches, whatever - and gives the appearance of a great surface. You will definitely want to wax over that to not only "lock in" the shine (hold the oils and fillers on the paint, although they will eventually dissipate on their own) but to give the paint some protection.

So, if you're gonna use a product like that (IHG, #7, whatever), you'll want to just use that and top it with wax (polymers seem to have a hard time bonding to a glazed surface). Alternatively, you could prep the surface (get rid of the imperfections) and have the option of using other things, like Zaino, Klasse, Blackfire, or the sealant of your choice.

Of course, even if your paint *is* in great condition, you could still do what you were talking about. IHG, P21S maybe, and you'll have a beautiful finish! :xyxthumbs
