If Your Going To Sell Something

Would it be to much to clean it up, post a pic, give the dimensions, tell about possible problems or be honest?

Apparently it is for tons of people selling stuff on Craigslist.

I've been looking for a used camper shell for the might Ford ranger, have seen quite a few on CL, but most don't list the dimensions, and then they state serious calls only:huh:

Pictures tell a thousand words...
Good pictures sell better than a thousand words...

It's not that hard to get a digital picture now days but it sure is hard to get a good picture from someone selling something on CL

I sold a older model Nissan Sentra that I have fixed up and done a ton of detailing on. I took great pics of the car inside and out, the car was gone in the first day and at the price I asked.

I sold both my wife's 4Runner and my several-month-old red Tacoma on CL within a matter of days of posting it. Both had pictures.

I love it when people post up cars for sale and in the pictures the car is dirty and the interior is packed with trash. Would it kill you to clean out the interior or maybe run it through a touchless?

When I sold my Grand Prix, I first listed it on craigslist. The only offers I received were lowball offers or those asking if I would take payments. I put it on Auto Trader and it sold for full asking price in one week.

Pictures and a good description go a long way to set things apart on craigslist. People don't realize how bad or even dumb they make themselves look with poor spelling and basic grammar mistakes. My car was fully detailed and the sun was out when I took my pictures. They really stood out from the other ads on the site and made my car look that much better.

When I list on CL, I use a little free template service called ClasPics. It it limited in its function but it really does the job. I can put in a background, and it'll have a big picture, nice looking text box, and links to other larger pictures.

Slide slideshows are also nice for CL ads if you can get the code to work.

CL is really good for lowball offers (how do you think I operate anyway?) and once you've listed and relisted a car over and over it gets tedious and in the end a lot of people take my lowball offers after they call the scrap guy and get offended. Like the pretty decent, rust-free, running and driving '79 Thunderbird I'm trying to get now. Guy has had it up for SIX MONTHS. Started around $1500. He's down to $500 at the moment, and I'm trying to get it for $200-$250 no more than $300. He called last night and left me a voicemail asking me if I still want the car. I'm going to wait 3 more days then call him back, give him some time to think no one else wants it.

I'm not sleazy, I'm skillful.

And if someone else gets the car, I'll start in on the guy with the '70 Sport Fury out in East TX. He was at $1500 a few months back, currently $850, I was thinking $400 to $600 for that one. It has no motor or transmission but it's a true hardtop, gorgeous shape. And I have a line on a good running 440/727 combo for $1200 I could throw in there.

Craigslist I recently looked for a house to rent - if it's too good to be true it's a scam! This guy was trying to rent me a house that he didn't even own. I still don't understand what the actual scheme was I mean would anyone really send someone money before getting a key. I wasted alot of time with that guy - lol you live you learn.

I have been needing to post up a entertainment center for sale and physical dimensions were the very first thing I gathered. I've got to get a picture, set up an account and actually put that out there. We can't even buy a new TV and move it into place until I get this done. I guess I subscribe to the saying...
Procrastinate NOW! Don't put it off
