If detailing in sun is bad, how about high CRI fluorescent?

I'm going to buy fluorescent fixtures for the garage tomorrow... I've read the new T-8 bulbs/ballasts are best. I've also read the higher the CRI, the closer to daylight it is. 100 = daylight and the bulbs I'm getting are 90... so would high CRI light have the same negative effects in detailing as natural sunlight? I just don't want to be working against myself by detailing the car in the garage only to be putting it under artificial sunlight.

bjwebster is correct. The bulbs you have mimic the color spectrum of the sun, not its power. An example is 100% means it would look the same (color wise) as viewed under the suns direct lighting. Ever notice how the incandescent lights leave a yellow glow, your florescent bulbs are made to be close to natural sunlight as far as color tone! I hope this helps. To answer your question, no damage whatsoever can happen to your cars finish from using those bulbs. Another benefit is unlike halogen bulbs which put out high intense heat your bulbs don't! Enjoy your new lights dude!:up

One thing I forgot to add, yes your bulbs put out some UV, nothing coming close to the suns but they are made to replicate the UV spectrum of the sun, they can over time fade colors, in things like fabric, cause fish tanks to grow excessive algae.

Thanks! This is what I thought too, just wanted to be sure... after reading a lot about CRI I started second guessing myself. I'm going out to Lowes now!
