Idrosave

I saw Mike`s review where he said Idrosave itself is not staining the sponge. It is the combination of dirt and grime that is being removed from the surface of the vehicle.

What are your final thoughts on it?

I always thought the staining was like encapsulated crud. I still like D114. What kind of rinseless was that? It did not stain but did not have that much of an issue removing the staining. D114 feels like washing with a low foaming and easy to remove soap. What is similar? I did not like UWW as a rinseless.

Um...of course it`s the dirt that`s staining the wash media, not the product. It`s just that some products allow the dirt to rinse out, instead of binding it to the wash media the way ONR and Idrosave do. Optimum explains that the staining is very small particles that are not harmful to your paint...completely missing the point that media staining prevents you from seeing how much dirt is coming off the panel, etc.

McKee`s N-914 was supposed to be a "replacement" for D114 when it was discontinued. I think the current parlance refers to these (and many others now) as "surfactant" washes, vs. "polymer" washes like ONR.

I`ve watched some of your videos. I don`t have access to youtube right now.

I`m going all in with Labo`s Preludio(s) rinsless/waterless system. I want to master the process.

I`m hoping alkaline preludio is effective at 10:1. That`s my starting point.

I feel treating a panel at a time really makes me focus and i do a better job then spraying down most of the car, waiting and rushing because i don`t want it dry too much.

I will still use my hose for highly dirty cars but i don`t bother with my nice foam setup anymore - probably close to 2 years. Too much fooling around and it`s quite the mess.

This stuff is awesome. I’ve never used it but it seems better than awesome. Labradoodle and cosmoline are #1 4 shizzle.

Finally used Idrosave. Its a fine rinseless. Panel by panel i had no issues. It will streak a little if you apply too much and under direct sunlight but its pretty simple to wipeoff.

Interested in the protection. I mixed 70ml in 16 liters. I was going to top it but i want to see it stand alone.

I never tried ONR.

Yeah i don`t think all the new rinseless on the market are game changing, I`m sure ONR still holds its own.

I might pick up a 32oz bottle of ONR my next order just to compare and have some fun.

I wash my car with rinseless exclusively now.

Update: Idrosave looks fantastic today - i will start to test but i don`t think my car ever looked so good a day after a rinseless. One very curious thing about it. It rained earlier and when i left the house after the sun came out the hood and roof were dry with no water beads. Most products i`ve used there would be standing water beads on the car, which cause horrible water spots. Beads look great but i cringe when i see standing beads now on my car. I want to wipe them off or drive my car to get rid of them..

Beads are very overrated. Much like foam cannons.

There is a really big weakness of idrosave. I never got any staining but it takes a lot more effort to clean my sponge than with something like DIY. On the outside edges i had some build up of these really stubborn dirt deposits.

The beads are ok, nothing like cancoat, which i don`t think is a bad thing anymore.

Used Idrosave again today in direct sunlight. I had no issues myself and i also left the sponge in the bucket for 4 or 5 hours. I`m not getting any staining....its good lol

The protection can`t be that stout in my mind after diluting the product 256:1. I think its splitting hairs. It does dry out your hands more than DIY for example.

Just to add The Rag Company blue clay scrubber continues to let me down. Its just not coarse enough. They should make another grade. I broke out my last piece of gyeon`s purple course clay - nice clay.

The car is the worst its ever been. I`m assuming its because i left her next to an active shipyard for 2 weeks. Some of the panels are very rough and the blue clay scubber is doing next to nothing. Its too mild IME. The DIY towel i assume would be the same way. Junk.

Carpro states there clay towel is medium grade. I think i will try that one next..but i don`t see me ever going without regular clay.
