Ice Liquid Clay

At my local Canadian Tire store I came across Turtle Wax Ice liquid clay. Has anyone any experience with this. It is supposed to work on the same problems as regular clay.

I'd be surprised if it was 100% as effective. It's probably a decent paint cleaner..but so is Meg's DC1, which is half the price or less.

I see if for about $15 USD at WalMart and it's tempting just for curiuosity's sake..but then I think of all the clay, MPPC, and AIOs I have at home and about what I can get online for about that price and temptation fades pretty quickly

From what I hear, it is more of a paint cleaner than a clay bar. It might be effective as a paint cleaner, but it isn't going to be effective as a clay bar.

They are using marketing ploys to sell their products. And for the general public, it works. However, more knowledgeable detailers know that a liquid can't accomplish the same task as a true clay bar.

I dont know of any company out there that does not use "marketing ploys"....

How about this one that I am sure we have all heard..."Protects up to __ Months".

This could mean that it protects anywhere from 1 day to soooo many months.

I've seen this a lot, but I plan to stay away from turtle wax products. I'd rather spend my money on something else.

I have been happy with some Turtle Wax products in the past (like their Platinum Series Ultra Gloss wax), so I am not ready to discredit their merchandise without trying it. I bought a bottle of their liquid clay for about 16 bucks at Wal-Mart last week. It is supposed to be rainy over the next few days in North Texas, so I will probably try the liquid clay sometime next week. I am skeptical that it will perform exactly as advertised (purports to be better than a "standard" clay bar), but it might work okay on paint that's in good condition. The instructions state that you can go from washing (with the liquid clay) to waxing, since it is a combination wash/clay/paint cleaner/polish/swirl remover, etc. Sounds like a pretty tall order, but I still want to give it a shot.

I love marketing...for a few laughs, go to their website. Ice Liquid Clay contains an 'exfoliant'. Plus they call their formulators 'Shineologists'

It really is an interesting looking product with the 3 layers..I can't resist the urge to shake it when I see it! haha

I don't doubt that it's a useful product for the average non-autopian.

Maybe I'll bite if and when it goes on clearance :D
