So daily driver's are never perfect. But with a DA polisher, practice, and patience, I can get my car to where I'm pretty satisfied. But I was thinking recently that a glaze might help me clean up that last 2 - 5 % of the defects.
So after polishing, I'll put down 2 coats of Klasse SG, and then top with a wax. Right now my car is wearing Collinite 845, but in the summer I'll be using Souveran.
Here is what I currently have for glaze options. I'm not really interested in purchasing something new until some of these are used up. (Unless somebody wants to trade)
Megs #7 Show car Glaze
Mother's Step 2 Sealer/Glaze
Pinnacle XMT Finishing Glaze w/Carnauba
I was thinking I could use the Megs #7 right after polishing and before the KSG. My question: Will the KSG still bond and protect well on top of the #7?
The Mother's Sealer/Glaze, I found out from Mother's forums, actually has no 'sealing' properties at all. Apparently there is a difference between a sealER and a sealANT. One actually does something, the other is just a fancy name. I'm inclined to just toss this stuff in the garbage.
The Pinnacle Finishing Glaze w/Carnauba is more of an LSP type product. Could I use this on top of KSG but before a regular 'nuba? My theory is that the KSG will prevent the glaze from actually filling any defects in, and subsequently create problems with the wax.
So it sounds like the #7 is where I want to go. So will the KSG still bond? If not, I'll probably just use it in the summertime and leave the KSG out of the process.
Also - I already know that the "G" in KSG stands for glaze, so don't bother pointing that out. I just don't think it's very effective at filling in defects IMO.
