i have a 99 grand am se with silver paint , it had a few small roadchips i wanted to clean up. So i preped, applied the touch-up paint until it was raised over the sourrounding paint then i panded with 1200 grit paper, i then used meguiars scratch-x to remove the scratches then waxed it, now when i look at my car it kind of looks like their is a small indent where i sanded.... WHAT CAN I DO!?

Use a spot glaze putty to save time on building multi layers of paint, just apply and sand 1-2 coats and your done !

Are you sure the dents weren't there before? Even though 1200 grit is a bit rough for sanding down touch up paint, unless you were pressing really hard I can't see how it could happen.

Did you sand down to just barely above the paint? Polishing can remove the remaining paint to level.

I'm sure it's possible with 1200 as I've seen a noob do it with 2000. How to fix it? Wish I knew. EdLancer, what is this glaze you speak of and where can it be found?

Use 2000 grit paper instead and make sure it is very wet. You can add more clear, but I think it will still look like the indent is there because you will be looking through the clear to the colored paint layer.
