I was working on doing a touchup and I think I sanded through some of my clear coat. I was using 2000 grit sandpaper. The final polishing was done with 3m clear coat safe polish.
What can I do to get fix the light spot that I am assuming is due to clear coat ruboff? I'm a bit short on money (student) at the moment so a professional repaint job will have to wait for a bit. If it's not fixable, what can I do to protect the area until it can be professionally done?
Many thanks for your help.

Oh, and the darker blue "touchup" was leftover from a dealer attempt to fix it before the car was sold... It doesn't look so bad, but now that light spot is there it's quite irritating.
